About Harrison
Harrison Burton is a Multiple Award Winning Canadian Underwater Cinematographer, an underwater explorer, a conservation advocate, an author, a drone operator and a fine art photographer.
He has spent nearly two decades working behind the camera professionally. His underwater clients include the History Channel US, Discovery Channel Canada, The Nature Conservancy of Canada, Fresh Start Media, Arctic Kingdom, Nova Scotia Tourism, Muse Entertainment, Bell Fibe, Eastlink TV and The Homarus Centre.
He is a recipient of the 2024 Robert Bateman Award for conservation in the arts from the Canadian Wildlife Federation, acknowledging his efforts in conservation and documentary storytelling.
Harrison recently filmed underwater in the Canadian Arctic beneath sea ice and icebergs for a climate change focused documentary titled, “Steve Backshall’s Royal Arctic Challenge” retracing the footsteps of King Charles which will air on ITV in the UK for Christmas 2025.
This fall Harrison was the Underwater DP on a unreleased documentary titled, “Lost Boy” profiling a notorious missing children’s case in Nova Scotia. He is also involved in a privately funded on-going tight lipped WWII expedition and documentary project expanding into 2026.
